What struck me recently me about New Orleans is that it’s a place of details. The little things that taken together add to the city’s ambiance. Sometimes these details add touch of class, sometimes a feeling of melancholy shabbiness. I’m sure I saw these before but, I didn’t see them. Sometimes you can see both in one view, like the Bourbon Street photo below that shows the colorful building fronts with the decay just peeking over the roof line. Sometimes they’re right under your feet.
Here’s a collection of the details I’ve noticed.
I’m going to add to this gallery from time to time as I discover more of these details. Now that I’m aware to look for them, I’m sure I’ll find others. I not sure you can force this, you just have to be open to seeing these subtle nuances.
If you’ve been to the Big Easy, what details have you noticed?
